Since our founding in 1964, we have always been able to create a more comfortable life between Yamato City and the local Chuorinkan area with “Trust, Kindness, and Reliability” as our motto.
Today, the number of sales of detached houses and residential land has increased, and we have been able to obtain great trust from local Yamato City, especially Chuorinkan.
Now, Mizushima Shoji provides international customers with English service to help find a new home.

1Appointment
Please contact us by e-mail and make an appointment.
Please let us know what kind of apartment you are looking for and your budget.
2House Hunting
Please come to our shop and go house hunting with us.
Let’s look at some apartments and find the best fit for you.
3Apply
Fill out the application form with you and your Japanese guarantor’s information.
You will need to bring your residence card and proof of income as well as your passport or driver’s license. We may ask for more paperwork if needed.
4Tenant Screening
We will perform a background check and confirm with the landlord.
We may ask you for more information if needed.
5Sign the Contract
Please come to our shop again to sign the contract.
We will explain important matters and information about living in Japan.
6Move In
Now it’s time to move in.
We will help you set up the utilities and any other matters as you need.
FAQ
- Is it possible to rent an apartment if I do not speak Japanese?
- Of course! We are happy to help you find your new home here in Japan.
- Do your properties come with furniture, appliances, etc.?
- Unfortunately, our listings are not furnished apartments.
- Are utilities such as gas, water, electricity, or internet included in the rent?
- Unfortunately, all utilities are not included in rental apartments.
You will need to arrange monthly payments by yourself, but we can support you in setting up these utilities. - What documents are required to rent a long-term apartment?

a) If you are working full-time in Japan, you will need a Japanese speaking emergency contact.
b) If you are not working full-time in Japan, you will need a Japanese joint guarantor. - Can I keep my pets in my apartment?
- It depends on the apartment. In pet friendly apartments, a deposit will be required to keep a pet.
- Can I apply for an apartment without viewing it?
- No, we strongly recommend you visit the property before you sign the contract.
- Can I renew the lease contract?
- Yes, but a Contract Renewal Fee will be required.
